ScreenStamp

ScreenStamp is a lightweight macOS utility for cleaning up screenshot files. Drop or choose PNG, JPG, HEIC, or GIF images, and ScreenStamp will handle the repetitive parts for you: - Convert screenshots to JPG or HEIC — pick HEIC to keep transparency, which JPG cannot store - Infer capture date and time from screenshot filenames - Read the date from the image itself via OCR when the filename has none — in English, Korean, Japanese, and Chinese - Write missing EXIF date metadata into converted files - Normalize filenames into a clean, sortable timestamp format — or define your own - Check any date format before you convert, with the built-in Date Recognition Test - Adjust compression quality - Optionally draw a retro film-style date stamp on the image ScreenStamp is especially useful for archived screenshots, exported captures, and mobile screenshots that lost their original metadata. Chat captures count too — from an iMessage, WhatsApp, or Discord screenshot it reads the date header and the message time shown on screen. Paste the date exactly as it appears — in a filename or on screen — into the Date Recognition Test panel, and ScreenStamp shows you the date it would read, or tells you why it could not. If a JPG or HEIC already has valid date EXIF, ScreenStamp leaves it alone. If it does not, ScreenStamp can estimate the timestamp from the filename — or from text inside the image — and write it back into the file.
